Mr. Dj M. schreef:Thanks for the extra pictures Faultier! Black is beautifil again this time and this is probably the first and last time I'd ever said that the (tail)lights look better on the Minichamps model! Autoart forgot the black lines and the orange blinkers are to red on the AA :(
yap, thats the only negative aspect I have on this model.
Otherwise its amazing.

When I get mine, I'll fix that with some narrow strips of black self-adhesive tape.

that sounds great. Please add a little tutorial.

This method keeps the old model but superbs it for the time it belongs in your collection.
But in fact I never think about selling my lovely models Afbeelding

I'm not a big fan of the Megane (euhm, understatement of the year - almost killed my appetite  ), but you make it up with an extraordinary Alpine. What a car
Super

A you got the Megane as well! I still don't understand this one isn't sold out yet...
Two things, watch out for the photo-ets parts when cleaning! They're not really well glued. Seconds, the tail lights can have a problem. The glue that's used can eat up the paint and get it soft. You will get some light yellow blur around the taillights then. Maybe it's the best to remove them as you don't have any problems yet. Remove all the glue and glue them back with a glue you would use normally for these things.

And the Alpine, really nice model :D
I indedeed got three of them but one was for my brother and another one is just picked up by another forum member from here.
Unfortunately my model got some bad paint on the left door, but you saw I worked that out in a special way :P

Hello Faultiers,

I am very font of your latest adition of your OTTO model cars

I prefer the Alpine, very good colour, with extreme high details, like those 'BBS Rims" with logo.

The yellow Renault, looks very fine aswell, but I have never seen one in 1:1

So, in future, more OTTO models will enter your magnificant 1:18 collection :?:

Do you have any idea, for which French models you prefer to buy? Citroen ?, Peugeot 205 / ?, Renault ? or more Alpines :?:

Wow, stunning cars! Ottomobile has produced wonderful cars, this is the first time I see the Otto Mégane, but it's lovely and the details are good! :)

Bedankt for the reactie :worshippy:

See I learned some dutch :D

@Mr DJ,

you make me scared. I´m not trained in modyfying models.
So I have to remove the taillights to clear all the bad glue?

Are the Otto Models not made in france by hand?
So why they haven´t seen the paint-mistakes

@Ron,

well the Ottos have a good price but some details (bad glue, and the decals) are not on that level taht I usually expect.
Thats why I collect mostly AA and Kyosho.

But nobody made the Alpine before and maybe I will buy more Ottos, if I like the real car. I think about the Alpine A 610 or so :D

never say never.

Haha :D but about the model, well they're made in China, but I assume they aren't checked here.
Would be a whole lot of work as they must be packed in china also, so you get repacking then etc... The distributing and packaging the order was done at DHL last year, now they've taken over this and tha packing is done much faster and still shipped via DHL. So I think this is the only physical activity in Europe.

About the taillights, I sended them an e-mail about it. They've sended me back that they can't do anything about it and that they're aware of this problem and more Megane's have it. As they still had some models, it would have been nice if they offered me a new one, but you could get the same problem then though. So it would be honest if they offered me at least some discount, but they didn't. So some level of denial of Otto if you ask me.
Maybe the tail light problem will never apear, the process must be continuing in the box so maybe you won't get any problem if you don't have it yet?! On my brothers Megane is nothing to be seen(yet), but maybe it's better to make shure nothing will happen and do something about it while there still isn't any damage?

The glue used on Otto models is a bit like Bison kit, relatively soft and stretchy. You could just take the taillights plastic peace off and then pull the glue off with your nail, or something that's hard enough and doesn't damage. Then you can use a simple seconds glue, but watch out as this leaves white deposit and could be very "hard" for all materials. Just use as little as possible on the side edges of the taillight caps and glue them back. If you have better glues as plastic glue that's made not to damage, so not the Revell glue, then you could you that also. That's normally a better choice if you don't want to damage anything and the glue must stay clear, but if you use so little and on the side edges of these taillights, you haven't got any problem. I did it like this, but as mine was damaged already I was too late :(
I ripped of as many soft paint as possible and the glue that became light yellow, but the result is that you still have a bit damaged edges around the taillights :eh:

yap, Otto seems a bit....well....in german I would say "nicht Kundenorientiert".

I tried to preorder the Alpine and they did anything to help me so I did my best to order it as early as it was on their page.
Its also not easy to send them back because 20 eur postage-cost and they don´t have to pay this even if it was their fault.

Yeah this explains it. They make the models in china so no checking at all.
I still like the blue Alpine  and the yellow Megane is also nice.
