Daar werd mij gevraagd om een kort verslagje van mijn belevenisen van 4 dagen MonsterJam/Arnhem te doen:
4 days with MonsterJam I'll never forget....
Whoaaaaaaaaaa.........
Together with my buddy Tim, we've been working 4 days at the MonsterJam-Europe floor/pits/track at the Gelredome Stadium in Arnhem/Holland.
From 8:30 in the morning till late in the evening.
Hard work, I lost my voice, have 16 blisters and bloodblisters on my feet and hands.
We all looked like pigs, grease and oil everywhere, unshaved and smelling as hell...
But we wouldn't miss it all!!! Next year we'll be back!!!
We had fun, disagreements, laughs, musclepains, we learned a lot, we were hungry and thirsty, our back hurts...
We joined our diners, breaks and lunches together with crew and drivers as if we were one big family..
4 days in a row, 4 days I'll never forget....
I also was one of the invited 10 people, who were able to show our U.S.car's to the 6000 people visiting both PitParties and during the pre-show event.
Almost 15.000 people visited each show... Dedicated fans showing up hours before the gates are opened to get a glimp of their favorite MonsterTruck..
Fabulous American Showcars presented themselves during then pre-shows, a guy with a Jet-pack on his back flied arround the stadium, FMX stunt-bikes, Quad races, Irron Warrior's Trey Meyers showed his astonishing Jet-Quad...
My 7 year old son Tygo was a real eye-catcher with his GraveDigger-bicycle, helmet and outfit.
He poses for some pictures as Chucky sat on his bike next to the Grave Digger Truck.
Charlie allowed him to climb in his truck.
I haven't see much of the race's or freestyle's. I had to work and stay tuned...
My wife and son seen all 3 show's, I joined them only at some parts of the 2nd show because my feet needed a rest and the last freestyle of the 3rd show.
Of cause I've made photo's and movie-caps, not as much as last year, but because I always carry my camera with me, I shoot approximately 700 pic's and mov's.
I'll sort them out, resize them and share them all with you... later................
Small recap:
* Freestyle 2nd show: Grave Digger got seriously stucked on a old firetruck, they had to lift him off with 2 shovels, freestyle/3rd show he damaged his body and drive shaft. On the headset's we heard someone begging to Charlie Pauken: DO NOT, Please, DO NOT wreck your Digger body, because it's the only Digger body we have in Europe... Charlie didn't listen.......
* Max D. did some incredible saves but flipped over twice this weekend. He wrecked his transmission during the races with a loud DENG, but right on time for his freestyle-performance his crew build a new transmission in his truck. Awesome job!!!
* MonsterMutt had some shock-problems, after each jump he kept on bouncing, flapping his ears... The crowd loved it, Winston didn't....
* George Balhan came over to Holland to drive the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle truck.
* 1st show they transformed the Inferno truck into the Hotwheels truck, they removed the bed cover and put on the "HotWheels"-stickers. Lateron they had to change it back because there were some copyright problems.
* Inferno couldn't run at the 3rd show, because he damaged the engine at the 2nd show.
* Slingshot performed very well in his complete new truck, did a magnificent wheely, I heard he flipped over ones, I haven't seen it....
* Blown Thunder had no try-out opportunity at al. They finished building their complete new Dodge-body truck 3 days before the show's, shipped it and had some ignition-problems at the first show. He need some more time to test this new truck, but I was happy he joined us... John Seasock was driving also Blown Thunder at the 3rd show and sadly wrecked up the front suspension and traction bars.
These 2 European team's deserve a lot of respect, because they spend all off their own money to build, drive, upgrade and repair their trucks, NO big sponsor-money for them...
Results and recaps can be found on the official USHRA site: http://www.monsterjamonline.com/results ... 09-11.2601

Some small pieces of bodyparts from GraveDigger, a lil' piece of Batman's wing, a large piece of Blue Thunder's front fender and light, a small piece of Maximum Destruction with a "nail"-sticker.
A stud and wheelnut from Blue Thunder, his wheel was broken off after some hugh air over the FMX-hill.
I also got the large yellow oval "Batman" side-sticker from the Batman truck, who demolished his bodywork in Zurich/Switzerland.
And the large side "HotWheels"-sticker from the HotWheels-truck. Inferno was changed in HotWheels before the 1st show, but had to be changed back for the 2nd show, because of some copyright-problems...

MonsterJam Europe 2006 Antwerp/Belgium (7-Oct.-2006)
YEAH, another day at work at the MonsterJam floor.
At Saturday 6.00AM I hit the road and picked up my buddy Tim for a 2 hour ride to Antwerp/Belgium.
First time ever for me in the "SportPaleis"-stadium.
A small arena, there's only space for 6 Trucks, but the audience can sit real close and get a very good sight at the event.
4 shows in 3 days, (Friday: 1, Saturday: 2 and Sunday: 1 show) this means long days and very hard working for all the crew's.
Concrete floor and a slick surface causes lots of damage to the trucks, serious technical problems for Batman, Inferno, SuperMan and Grave Digger.
BatMan and Inferno had to be lift off by 2 fork-lifts to the pit, both trucks couldn't roll anymore..
Superman ruined his engine during his donut-contest...
Grave Digger had drive shaft and front differential (gears) damage.
TAZ hit the platform of the stadium-stage very hard and get stucked to it...
John Seasock gave me a piece of his demolished front differential ring-gear and put his autograph on it...
An awesome add to my son's collection:

We had a great time again, thanx to all the American and Belgium guys..
No names this time, I'll probably forget someone...
Hope to see you all next year...
A small review of back stage pics, more pic's and movie-caps wil follow:

Blessed trucks by Belgium priest, "Grumpy"...

Two more pic's from Belgium.
Saturday 2nd show: Freestyle by TAZ.
His turn was too fast and too wide and he slammed into the stage-platform and got stucked...
Panic by the Belgiums.... hurdes of security guys and important feeling people were taking pictures.
I heard rumours of an extra 7 foot safety area, BIG BS to me...
Nothing has happened or could have happened, the trucks simply can't run full speed in this miniature stadium!!!
Only some loose fences and some bended steel platform part's... That's all...
By the way, nothing has happened with the blue seat-blocks, they were taken away by one of the stewards after TAZ hit the platform...
